ABOUT THE EPISODE
Marriage rarely goes exactly as anticipated. In this episode, Sarah talks with Deb & Gibson Hopper about how they found each other after their first marriages ended in divorce. They share about their experience blending families, navigating expectations, and establishing new traditions. Now married for twenty-six years, Deb and Gibson offer valuable insights on healthy communication, developing friendships outside marriage, the importance of sex, and more.
MEET THE GUESTS
Deb and Gibson have been married for twenty-six years. They met while working at FM Global in Charlotte, NC. Deb brought two daughters (Katie Walters and Jess Connolly) into the marriage, and then she and Gibson had Caroline together.
They relocated to Charleston, SC in 2002 when Gibson accepted a civilian engineering role with the US Navy, where he still works today. Deb served as Women’s Pastor at Seacoast Church for ten years and is now a Coach for Go + Tell Gals, volunteering and serving her family. They both serve in the Groups ministry at Bright City Church, where Nick and Jess are pastors.
Their family continues to grow with two son-in-loves and eleven grandchildren, which makes for loud and fun Sunday lunches every week.
Deb and Gibson enjoy traveling, home and garden projects, exploring historic sites and movie nights in Gibson’s media room. You can connect with Deb on Instagram and Gibson on Facebook.
